Kataifi is a shoelace frozen pastry, well-known in the Greek gastronomical tradition: it contains no fat and has a neutral taste, accordingly it can be used to cook both sweet and salty dishes. Recently it has been highly appreciated in Italy too to decorate sweets and to prepare gourmet nests to be filled.
It is traditionally used to prepare traditional recipes, like Kunafa, a typical middle Eastern dessert stuffed with sweet white cheese or pistachos. The way of preparing Kunafa and its genuine ingredients make the syrup very absorbing and allow excellent results while cooking it.
